While 205 Live tends to focus on singles matches, they also maintain a shockingly good sense for tag team matches. This week would kick off with Ever-Rise (Chase Parker & Matt Martel) facing the duo of Leon Ruff and Adrian Alonis. While Ruff & Alonis have not had the best win-loss records in WWE, they’ve been teaming as members of Skulk across the indies, alongside Liam Gray. Mainly seen in companies like Evolve, would they be able to get the upset win over Ever-Rise?
Ever Rise Finally Look To Win A Match
Leon Ruff would start in against Matt Martel, and would fail to get control, as any time they’d be locked up, Martel would throw Ruff across the ring. Martel would tag in Chase Parker, and Ruff would tag in Adrian Alonis to see if his partner could find better luck. Alanis would try to lock up with Parker, but would find himself with his arm trapped, before managing to get control with a quick arm-drag. Parker would manage to get a tag, but Martel would miss a clothesline and be hit with an arm drag into arm lock, reminiscing of Ricky Steamboat.
Ruff would be tagged in shortly after, as Martel would be hit with a Manhattan Drop by Alanis, before Ruff would drop him with a Slingblade, a fantastic show of teamwork. Ruff would go right back to the arm that Alanis started working with. However, Martel would get back to his corner, tag in Parker and throw Ruff face first into the knee. Ruff would be rocked again with a dropkick, as Martel would be tagged back in. Some swift teamwork including jumping off his partners back for an elbow drop would net Martel time to gloat before hitting a backbreaker and applying a chicken wing submission.
Ruff would escape from this hold, counter the backdrop attempt and tag in Alanis who looked to come in and clear house, only to be shut down. Martel would tag in parker before hoisting Alanis up, letting Parker bring him down hard with double knees for the win.
This was an short but great showcase for what could become two future tag team contenders within WWE. Will this win be what EverRise needed to finally get their career going? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
