After years of rumors, and a brief test period earlier this year, WWE has officially launched the free tier of the WWE Network. No longer will you have to pay 9.99$ to watch more WWE than what is provided on Youtube. The content available is limited, but also quite wide and diverse. What can anyone watch now on the free WWE Network?
Free WWE Network Even Includes Some Wrestlemanias
With them wanting to put eyes on the WWE Network, you can log on and find all of the following. The PPV offerings are WrestleMania 31 to 35, the last 5 Backlash events (as well as the 2003 edition), as well as the Royal Rumbles from 2015 to 2019. You can also watch epsodes of Monday Night RAW from March 2nd to April 27th, episodes of Smackdown from from March 6th to May 1st, and epsiodes of NXT from March 4th to April 29th. We can assume these offerings will climb upwards overtime. Speaking of NXT, you can even watch NXT Takeover events from New Orleans to Portland, possibly the best offering on this free WWE Network.
Outside of in-ring content, lots of series like Table Of 3, Ride Along, Monday Night Wars, and the recent Best of WWE all in full. If you’re a fan of the reality shows like Total Divas, Total Bellas and Miz & Mrs., you’ll find a ton of that around for you as well. Add in the revival of RAW Talk every Monday after RAW, and a new push for the Network has begun.
Assuming that the PPV offering of Backlash will be replaced by the next PPV coming on the calender, and that the episodes of RAW, Smackdown & NXT will update, this will give a ton of content. Crazily, it’s also ad free for the moment being, something which is unlikely to stick in the future.
So Why Pay For WWE Network?
While this gives fans a lot to get their feet wet with, it only gives you a mere fraction of the archives. Being able to relive the past of WWE, WCW, ECW and more is the best reason for the Network. You also don’t get the latest episodes of NXT, 205 Live, NXT UK, the PPV events live and more. They have been generous with this, but not too much so that the network isn’t worth paying for.
