Asuka is on one of the best runs in her WWE career. While she’s not quite at her NXT peak, she’s on top of Monday Night RAW after winning the vacant RAW Women’s Championship at Money In The Bank. Since then she’s defeated Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair, and is looking to add Sasha Banks to that list following The Horror Show: Extreme Rules. However, she’s already looking past Banks, with her friend and tag team partner Kairi Sane being on her dream opponent list. While this match is expected to be next, she’s got another woman on her radar: the former NXT Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley.
Asuka Would Want To Face Rhea Ripley
With rumors swirling of another all women’s PPV within WWE, wrestlers are looking to secure big matches for the show. This includes Asuka, who during an interview with Metro.co.uk, would talk about who she has her eyes on, and a return to NXT.
“I want to be there, I want to have many matches with NXT superstars. NXT equals Asuka. I will be there and I want to be there. Rhea Ripley. She’s looking good, and she looks tough. I want to face Rhea.”
She’d go on to name Rhea Ripley as a dream opponent for the rumored Evolution 2. This obviously caught the eyes of Ripley herself. On twitter she would simply say “Interesting… I’ve always wanted to face Asuka.”
Becky Lynch Gets A Title Shot When She’s Back
Keen on holding this belt for a loooong time, Asuka is even looking forward to facing Becky Lynch. It was Lynch giving up the championship to take time off to have a baby which led to the RAW Women’s Championship being on the line at Money In The Bank. Because of this, Asuka is very happy to give Lynch a shot when she’s back.
“Well, she is a special opponent for me and once she comes back, I’d love to have a match with her. Actually, while she takes a break I’ll continue to build up experience through matches so I can’t wait to see what happens when we compete.”
Asuka & Lynch are two of the best rivals in WWE today, always having excellent back and forth matches. It would be an absolute treat to see them clash once again.
