CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers here with a fun throwback spoiler for the Fisher-Baldwin Family Week, and this is going to be an emotional one. We’ve all heard the phrase “We don’t get to choose our family,’ and that could be the title for this episode as it fits perfectly.
We all have our secrets and we’ll go to great lengths to protect them, depending on how we think they’ll alter how others view us. It’s a difficult thing to admit something to someone that may cause them to love us less or not at all.
We see this everyday on social media where lifelong friends, husbands and wives, and other relationships are torn apart because someone likes someone the other hates. Some secrets are so dark we may have to hire actors to pretend they’re someone we don’t want others to meet. Of course, the latter is mainly a storyline took for various television shows (I hope?), but it makes for some entertaining times.
So, with that in mind, we’re all set to dive into this episode, which comes to us from March 31, 2005.

Family Bonds
CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers love a good mystery, but the wrong one can tear a family apart, and that was exactly what Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) had hoped to accomplish with forcing this ultimatum on Gloria Abbott (Judith Chapman). Ashley and her brother, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), never stopped trying, even going so far as telling Gloria the wrong time for John Abbott (Jerry Douglas)’s funeral.
Nothing they tried ever worked, including this attempt as Gloria sat John down to explain the secret she worked so hard to keep from everyone.
Meanwhile, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) was attempting to call Gloria when his brother, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) came in and stopped him. After a tense moment, he explained that their mother, Gloria, had been forced into telling John everything by Ashley and everything hung in the balance.
They continued talking about what could happen, with Kevin being the positive one as he was sure Gloria and John would kiss and make up. Michael wasn’t so sure.
Cleansing truth
John had previously told Gloria that he’d already met her estranged sons, but now she informed him that they were just actors she plaid to play her sons because she was afraid how he’d react to who they really were.
He was understandable upset that she’d lied to him, but he quickly regained the composure he’s renowned for and asked her to be honest with him.
She explained they he already met them, that they knew each other. This didn’t clear matters up, and things went haywire at this point because Kevin showed up and asked to speak with Gloria. John wanted to know why he wanted to talk to her and told him to leave, and with the issue now pressed, Gloria told him Kevin was one of her sons.
Nothing like some fun communication problems to spice things up. How do you think John reacted to the news? Let us know in the comments, and be sure to check back with CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation.
