And here we are, tonight’s Impact Wrestling main event!
Impact Tag Team Championship Match – The North (Josh Alexander and Ethan Page) (c) vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)
Alex Shelley and Ethan Page start it off exchanging wrist locks before Page locked Shelley in a side headlock.
They followed it up with a series of fastmoving attacks and counters before Alexander and Sabin squared off.
Another exchange of holds and moves followed, showing how evenly matched the teams are followed.
Page took control after Shelley, then ducked out of the ring. Page talked some smack and Sabin hit him with a kick.
After double kicks on Alexander cleared the ring, they jumped over the top rope at Page.
Page ducked, but they held on and landed on the apron, then hit Page with kicks as we headed to commercial.
We came back as Shelley hit Page with a crossbody in the ring for a near pin.
Page tried to counter by throwing Shelley into the opposite corner, but Shelley dodged his splash, then hit Alexander before Alexander and Page nailed him and knocked Sabin off the ring apron.
Shelley countered a suplex by Alexander into an armbar, but was spun into a backbreaker, ending his attempt.
Alexander talked trash on Shelley about not having a partner after they isolated him for a good portion.
Shelley rolled out of the way of Alexander’s moonsault, and they both tagged out as Sabin and Page squared off.
The tide changes
Sabin hit with a huricaranna and dropkick off the top rope, turning the momentum around.
Sabin ducked a double clothesline by The North and hit Alexander with a Tornado DDT, the Page with another tornado DDT for the near pinfall.
Sabin tagged out and dove through the rope to take out Alexander. Shelley missed off the up rope, but still had a near pin on Page before he kicked out.
A series of superkicks and a flip took Page down, but he kicked out.
Bodies were everywhere as Alexander and Sabin tagged in and the two exchanged blows, but Alexander got the better of it.
Sabin was caught by Page on the ropes, and Alexander hit him from behind before the North hit with a cutter and suplex but Shelley broke up the pin attempt.
And new…
Page and Alexander took turned hitting Sabin, but Sabin rolled Page up for the pin. Alexander tried to interfere, but Shelley grabbed on and kept him from saving the pin.
The Motor City Machine Guns are Impact. Wrestling’s new Tag Team Champions.
Heath finally managed to sneak in through an exit door as another left to close out the show.
