Impact Wrestling has had one of the best teams in professional wrestling in The North. Ethan Page and Josh Alexander each bring different skills to the team, and they’ve learned how to utilize both their strengths while protecting their weaknesses. However, it’s their greatest weakness that has them in this situation.
After spending most of the COVID-19 quarantine in Canada, they returned to action by defending the Impact Tag Team Championship against the Rascalz (Dez and Wentz). But when they went backstage afterwards expecting to be congratulated on a great performance, they were greeted by wrestlers marking out over Ken Shamrock’s Greatest Hits on Impact Plus. Page broke one of the IPads in frustration and his ranting and raving carried over to the following week.

While backstage the next week, Page continued to rant and insulted Shamrock, who happened to come up behind him. After Page nearly wetted himself, Alexander stepped forward and challenged Shamrock to a match, which Shamrock accepted without hesitation. Then when he was heading to the ring, Shamrock was attacked from behind by The North and let unconscious.
“Who needs a friend when you have an enemy” – Sami Callihan
The next week, The North mocked Shamrock for not having a friend, prompting Sami Callihan to appear on the screen to say the now infamous line, “Who needs a friend when you have an enemy.” He then appeared at Shamrock’s side, evening the odds and The North left.
The North then went to EVP Scott D’Amore to complain, and is an awesomely hilarious mocking of The North, set up their title defense at Slammiversay against Callihan and Shamrock.
The question leading to this title match isn’t so much whether Callihan and Shamrock can win the tag team titles, as there’s little doubt the Most Dangerous Tag Team in the World is more than capable, but will Callihan and Shamrock survive together?
They recently recounted the story of the scorpion and frog and how the scorpion couldn’t ignore its nature and stung the frog as they crosses a river, drowning them both. Callihan is definitely the scorpion, but as Shamrock said, if he tries to sting, the frog will break his neck. We always hear of tag teams being the best of friends or brothers, but enemies can be just as effective as they both want to win, so they can find a way to succeed while hating the person next to them.
This match could go either way, but we’re going with Shamrock and Callihan winning. It feels wrong to have The North lose after we’ve gotten used to them dominating the tag team division, but a super team like this could be what it takes. What are your thoughts?
