WWE Raw has a treat for us tonight. This is one of the better feuds the WWE has going lately as the build to Extreme Rules: The Horror Show continues. Since Sasha Banks set her sights on Asuka’s Raw Women’s Championship, several things have become clear. First, the brand split is virtually nonexistent in their effort to raise ratings. This appears to have worked to some degree as their numbers have gone up the last few weeks.
Secondly, the women’s division has become a race between four people – Sasha Banks, Bayley, Asuka, and Nikki Cross. This may work in the short term, but there doesn’t seem to be much chance of anyone else breaking into the top three. The reason we say top three is we don’t see Nikki Cross beating Bayley at Extreme Rules. She’s be a fun champion, but Bayley’s been built up into an unstoppable force (kinda like Becky Lynch), and Cross’ build up has been more spontaneous and lacks believability that she’ll win. It would be cool if she did, though.
However it breaks down, Asuka is going to need someone to watch her back with Banks prowling outside the ring here and Bayley doing so at Extreme Rules.

Multiple angles upcoming
We mentioned this was possible last week, and it remains likely to happen at some point. At least, we’d like to see it happen. This just feels like the perfect time for her to come out and have Asuka’s back.
Of course, this may not be likely as there are plenty of rumors that Sane is going to head back to Japan with her husband soon, so the WWE may keep her off television for the remainder of her time here. It sucks, but it makes sense if this is the route they go as they can paint Asuka into a bigger threat and champion than Bayley if she can fight Banks and Bayley off to retain the Raw Women’s Championship.
What would really make this interesting is that this could set up a title for title match down the road. Given how the brand split has been largely ignored basically since the reshuffle last year, they could unify the Women’s Championships and that would make things really interesting.
And if Sane does return and isn’t planning to head back to Japan, this could also be the start of a feud for the Women’s Tag Team Championship between the four women.
All of that aside, we expect Asuka to win this match by disqualification simply because we feel she’ll push Bayley to the point where Banks will have to get involved and Asuka will be ready for her.
We do have to say we think it’d be pretty cool if Bayley wins if WWE creative is planning on creating more of a divide between the two women. Banks looked awfully comfortable wearing the Smackdown Women’s Championship on Smackdown last week, so that storyline is far from dead. WWE Raw is looking like it’s going to have some fun moments for us.
