So the word’s out that Alexa Bliss will have a special mystery guest on her A Moment of Bliss segment on WWE Smackdown.
This is an interested event simply because the easy and expected answer would be her friend and tag team partner Nikki Cross to help build hype for her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Bayley at Horror Show: Extreme Rules.
Another obvious option would be Asuka to get the buzz going for her Raw Woman’s Championship defense against Sasha Banks at the pay-per-view.
Or even Bayley and/or Banks for the reasons listed above. These are the obvious, safe choices so we’re going to look at some off the wall ones that could be exciting for fans and get some buzz going.
Stephanie McMahon
This is one that’s gained some traction recently as it’s been hoped that she’d announce the all women’s pay-per-view Evolution 2. As awesome (not to mention a year late) as this would be, there’s also been recent news that Evolution 2 isn’t going to happen. Assuming this is true, it eliminates Stephanie for this instance.
Vanessa Borne
While Borne hasn’t been on WWE TV for a few months, she was called up to the main brand a while back but hasn’t debuted yet.

This is a current possibility due to a tweet she recently posted saying, “I know you like me in red.” This would be a good time for her to be introduced to start a feud with, well, anybody from Bliss to Shayna Baszler, depending on what WWE Creative has in mind. Though right before a pay-per-view could be awkward when the episode is meant to build for the event. That’s not to say it’s not possible as they still need to bring out storylines for the future, but this may work better next week when they have a clean slate.
Tessa Blanchard
This would be the biggest surprise of all given her “bad attitude,” but with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch out, the WWE is lacking top tier talent in the women’s division. Had they bothered to develop and give their women more opportunities this may not be a problem, but it is what it is.
There have been reports that the WWE sent feelers out to Blanchard about signing her, so it’s a definite possibility. She already knows their system and as a top free agent putting her in NXT probably wouldn’t be a good idea.
In fact, Stephanie McMahon could bring her out as a corporate enforcer like they did a few times over the last twenty years. It could begin a storyline where Stephanie wants to take over the women’s division (maybe she does in reality?) and make it bigger and into its own brand.
This is far reaching, we know, but it would be a pretty cool move for the promotion and add instant star power and get tongues wagging on social media.
With all this being said, who do you think will be the mystery guest?
