On WWE Smackdown, we’re looking forward to seeing what’s in store between “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman.
Since our belief is the Fiend only comes out when Bray Wyatt fails or needs more muscle, we’re expecting Braun Strowman to be putting up more of a fight than we’ve been led to believe.
The Fiend appearing at the end of their swamp fight makes sense in that case. He had to subdue Strowman, but what happened to him afterwards?
Missing monster
We’re sure Strowman will pop up this week, otherwise this if going to be an interesting build up to SummerSlam.
Our thinking is, he’s being brought back into the fold so he’ll be the black sheep once again.
He may even betray Wyatt leading up to SummerSlam and it’ll set up another, final match between the two.
Honestly, this seems a bit much.
While it’s logical, and having Strowman appear after somehow escaping from the swamp seems like a good story, it doesn’t feel right.
This could actually be played out like a Darth Vader/Emperor Palpatine type of angle where Wyatt will use Strowman to do some of his dirty work. Maybe even show him off as a returning family member?
It’d give them a great angle that’s different but standard in the wrestling world and start building them up for SummerSlam.

King Corbin’s Bounty
This is a wild guess, but we expect some poor jobber to attempt to collect the bounty King Corbin put on Matt Riddle on last week’s WWE Smackdown.
It’s only natural given Riddle and Corbin probably won’t have a match until SummerSlam. At least, not one that’s a strictly one on one affair.
That’s part of the problem with Corbin’s character as he’s more than capable of being a force on his own, but he constantly brings in flunkies to do his bidding before he loses on the big stage.
It’s gotten to the point where it’s not that interesting to see him anymore because we know what’ll happen.
Add to that how AJ Styles made sure Riddle looked as impressive as possible, the end of this feud is also a far gone conclusion. Not because Riddle is new or a face, but because it’s how all of Corbin’s feuds end.
Sure, it’s a good versus evil story in all wrestling promotions, but to have the exact same formula leading up to their matches, and most of those matches being gimmick matches, takes a lot of the fun out of things.
Still, we’re looking forward to seeing who steps forward to try to claim the bounty on Riddle.
We think the most likely individual will be a fellow NXT wrestler to try to prove their worth. There have been rumors of more wrestlers moving to the main brands, and this could be the start of that.
Or maybe Miz and Morrison will try their hand at this?
Whoever it is, this should be an entertaining, if quick, affair.
