It can be hard to figure out who the numbered grunts in Dark Order are, especially Nine. He was involved in the twelve man tag team match alongside fellow members of the cult like faction, a match that would end with Brodie Lee pinning Hangman Page. His identity might now be revealed, and it was one of the first people targeted by Dark Order, Brandon Cutler.
Cutler is currently in a tag team with Peter Avalon mainly seen on AEW Dark known as The Initiative, who are inching ever closer to a win as they take teams like Butcher & The Blade to the limit. But could Cutler have gotten his first win on Dynamite?
Brandon Cutler Could Be A Stand In For Preston Vance
Going back and watching Nine in that 12 man tag makes the theory that it’s Cutler even more sound, as the movements and agility were very similar to that of everyone’s favorite D&D obsessed wrestler. However, his generic grunt attire doesn’t scream longterm player. Rather it just sees him as a placeholder.
One of the highly touted joinings of the Dark Order was Preston Vance, now ‘10’. Unfortunately, shortly after joining, he’d suffer an arm injury, and was sidelined in the storyline by Jon Moxley.
With him not able to step into the ring again yet, it makes sense to grab someone from backstage, put them in a creeper costume and assign them a random number.
Cutler Goes Way Back With The Dark Order
Back before there was even a clear pick as The Exalted One, when The Dark Order was reaching out to the beaten down and defeated, Cutler was one of their marks. This was a talented wrestler who couldn’t find the formula of victory. He was seen on Being The Elite with a creeper mask in his bag, and could have shown up in the past as a nameless creeper for the faction.
Nothing was ever made official, but this unclear past would make it easy to justify Cutler having always been involved in the faction behind the scenes. They could build this up with ease if he’s more than just a simple stand in.
