Right now on Monday Night RAW, The Hurt Business reigns supreme. MVP is looking to regain the United States Championship at Summerslam, Shelton Benjamin just got his first singles win on Monday Night RAW in over a decade, and Bobby Lashley is a bigger threat than ever before. However, could their dominance slip outside of just Monday Night RAW?
Braun Strowman Might Need To Keep An Eye Open For Bobby Lashley
One of the highlights of Drew McIntyre’s run as WWE Champion was his excellent match with fellow heavyweight Bobby Lashley. It was hampered by a weak finish, and there was no rematch like fans expected. The time was not ready for a title change, though it’s hard to disagree that Lashley is ready for a proper world title run within WWE.
During an interview with Sports Illustrated, MVP would speak on what could in the future of The Hurt Business. When the topic of Bobby Lashley came up, he’d have the following to say.
‘Bobby is the prototype. Let’s be realistic, when you go down the list of WWE wrestlers, how many guys in real life look better than their action figure? Lashley is probably the only one. And to that point, I like what The Hurt Business is doing and yes, Lashley and Shelton should both have titles, no question. I don’t know what the creative direction is, but I would love it if The Hurt Business would show up on NXT and I would love it if we showed up on SmackDown and broadened the horizons of our brand. Whether it’s the WWE title, whether it’s the Universal title, both of those titles would look great on Lashley, whether it’s a temporary crossover on SmackDown or if it’s an invasion where The Hurt Business just shows up and takes it.’
The Hurt Business Could Cause Some Damage In NXT
While NXT is only briefly touched on in this interview, the NXT Championship is one of the more prestigous in the game today. It’s currently held by Keith Lee, who will face Karrion Kross in two weeks to make his second defense of the championship.
You’d be hard pressed to find a wrestling fan who wouldn’t see a match between Keith Lee & Bobby Lashley to be a huge encounter, especially with the NXT Championship hanging in the balance. Even just having them show up in NXT to face off with The Undisputed Era would be something very interesting.
With a coming WWE Draft, The Hurt Business could end up on any of WWE’s three brands. Will they remain a staple of RAW, or could they be moved around? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
