After being pinned in the Main Event of Wrestlemania 35, Ronda Rousey would exit WWE. Becky Lynch would hold both the RAW & Smackdown Women’s Championships, Charlotte Flair would look to take one of them, but Ronda Rousey took her ball and went home. However, she remains ring ready, as shown by a recent Instagram picture where she was training with a friend.
Ronda Rousey Is Training With Teal Piper, Daughter Of Roddy Piper
While some might think it odd that Ronda Rousey uses some imagery pulled right from ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper, it makes more sense when you realize they were friends. Ronda even wore Roddy Piper’s own leather jacket to the ring in her WWE debut at Royal Rumble 2018. This friendship continues through his daughter, prospective wrestler Teal Piper.
Teal Piper has wrestled for Women Of Wrestling, and even made an AEW debut as part of the Casino Battle Royale ahead of All Out 2019. Looking to continue to improve in the industry her father made his name in, she’s gotten Rousey as a training partner. The session also involved L.A Based wrestler Deimos, Cryme Tyme member JTG, and Diesl King.
Will Rousey Come Back To WWE?
After spending a year running through the RAW Women’s Division, Ronda Rousey didn’t have much left in WWE. Only a singles match with Becky Lynch was left on the table, a match that was set up multiple times but never came to life. First Lynch had her face broken by Nia Jax, and next time Charlotte Flair was added to make it a triple threat.
Lynch is now taking time off to give birth to her first child, meaning that if Rousey came back? She wouldn’t get this last match taken care of. She adapted to the ring very quickly, and we might see her make her way back to the ring eventually.
Royal Rumble 2021 is set to go like always, and that could be the perfect place to bring Rousey back. It would help get eyes on Wrestlemania 37, something that might be needed after a rather muted Wrestlemania 36. She’s clearly back in the ring for training, so things are looking good.
