WWE Smackdown Results find it curious that Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro are still the Smackdown Tag Team Champions. And here Champion vs. Champion was always for the belts before. O….kay. Guess we missed that.
Metalik sidestepped a Cesaro charge right off the bat and Metalik rolled him up for a near pinfall.
Metalik hit a spinning hurricanrana, then sat on the top rope chatting with the Lucha House Party as each member gave him differing bits of advice.
The result was he jumped into a powerslam by Cesaro, and then absorbed a bunch of uppercuts as Cesaro threw him from corner to corner.
Metalik caught his next charge with a boot and then hit with a hurricanranna.
After a few strikes, Metalik came of the ropes into a clothesline and a near pinfall.
Cesaro then locked in an armbar while straddling his back.
Metalik managed to get to his feet and sidestepped another Cesaro charge and Metalik hit with a step up kick.
While Cesaro was dazed, Dorado and Kalisto climbed onto the apron surrounding Metalik, arguing over who was giving him instructions.
The referee sent both of them away from ringside, and Cesaro knocked Metalik off the apron, but was caught with a flip off the apron as we headed to commercial.
Cesaro takes over
We’re back and Cesaro was back in charge in the ring, but Metalik flipped out of a suplex, but Cesaro hit with a big boot for a pin attempt.
Cesaro then locked in a rear chinlock, and then hit with an uppercut when Metalik tried to fight out of it.
Cesaro put him on the top rope, but Metalik fought back, and hit a hurricanranna for a near pinfall.
Cesaro hit with a running uppercut and then the neutralizer for the pin.
Jey Uso’s optimistic
Backstage, Jey Uso was interviewed about his upcoming match with Roman Reigns against King Corbin and Sheamus in a Samoan Street Fight.
He answered that Paul Heyman told him last week was a miscommunication, so he expects things to be different.
He added that he and Reigns have had each others’ backs since they were little, and the only difference after Clash of Champions is one of them will leave with the Universal Championship.
He’s so in for a rude awakening as WWE Smackdown Results think it’s only a matter of time until Jey sees the new Roman Reigns.
