The WWE Draft continued today with another round happening as part of Talking Smack. There were some names left in the Smackdown pool, meaning RAW got three more picks, and Smackdown got two. Who would end up moving?
Humberto Carillo Stays Put On Monday Night RAW In WWE Draft
The first pick of the round from Monday Night RAW was to keep Humberto Carillo. The promising high flier has been linked to fellow luchadors, Rey & Dominik Mysterio, who went to Smackdown Live last night. This gives him room to grow into his own again on Monday Night RAW, where he previously challenged for the United States Championship.
Murphy Goes To Smackdown Live, Following Rollins
Murphy is done being the disciple of Seth Rollins, and would break away from him recently. With Rollins going to Smackdown Live, this seemed like it might have been the end of this connection, but Murphy isn’t letting him go that easily.
Smackdowns first pick of Round 5 would be to bring Murphy in, meaning we will see these two clash very soon. Murphy also previously impressed in a match with the Universal Champion Roman Reigns, so don’t count him out as a potential contender there.
Drew Gulak Moves To Monday Night RAW
In an expected move, recent 24/7 Champion and top level grappler Drew Gulak properly moves to Monday Night RAW. He’s been tangling with R-Truth on the brand for weeks now, and didn’t have much holding him to Smackdown Live. This could have hidden implications for RAW however, as Gulak was the coach of Daniel Bryan before he left on paternity leave, meaning Bryan could rejoin Gulak on RAW when the time is right.
Kalisto Gets Drafted Alone, Stays On Smackdown Live
Despite being part of Lucha House Party, Kalisto would be chosen alone in the draft, not having Lince Dorado & Gran Metalik join him. Kalisto stays on Smackdown Live, while Dorado & Metalik go underdrafted. This could be to his benefit, being a former two-time United States Champion, with a lot to offer in a singles capacity without Dorado & Metalik slowing him down. Look out for him stepping up to Sami Zayn.
Tucker Moves To Monday Night RAW, WWE Draft Ends Heavy Machinery
The writing was on the wall for Heavy Machinery when Otis was drafted alone to stay on Smackdown Live, but there was a chance Tucker could become a free agent and rejoin Smackdown. However, RAW used their last pick of Round 5 to take Tucker to their brand, ending Heavy Machinery for now. This could be good, as Tucker might be able to shine in the RAW midcard, using his uncanny size and speed to take the fight to men like Bobby Lashley.
