NXT Takeover 31 is now in the books, but Wednesday is already here so it’s time to see where the brand goes next. We have some mysteries, some returning names like Ember Moon, and some potential injuries to go over. Let’s break down what can be expected on tonight’s episode.
Jessi Kamea Wants To Wrestle Someone, Likely Return Match For Ember Moon
We’re not likely to see many matches announced for tonight’s episode, but that doesn’t mean talent aren’t looking for matches on tonight’s episode. NXT women’s division undercard standout Jessi Kamea was watching NXT Takeover 31 like all the rest, and knows that two names are coming back. First is Ember Moon, second is Toni Storm.
It is going to get harder for someone like Kamea to get TV time, and tonight she has issued a challenge to anyone for a match. Seems like a great way for one of those names to return to NXT TV, and we know Ember Moon is in town and will start the night off.
Who Attacked Adam Cole?
Following the incredible Kyle O’Reilly vs. Finn Balor would close out NXT Takeover 31, Ridge Holland would dump the body of Adam Cole over the barricade. Roderick Strong & Bobby Fish would rush to his aid, but many questions have been raised. Wouldn’t the Undisputed Era have been watching Kyle O’Reilly’s big match together? How was Adam Cole the only one that was attacked by Ridge Holland?
Add in some terrible acting from both Fish & Strong, and you need to stop and think that they were the ones who beat down their leader. Cole has been becoming more of a babyface alongside Kyle O’Reilly, and many have viewed him as getting soft, which could include Fish & Strong themselves.
Injuries Out Of NXT Takeover 31
NXT Takeover 31 was a great show, but hard hitting matches lead to people being put on the shelf. There was three noted injuries out of the show, firstly Velveteen Dream was injured during his match with KUSHIDA. KUSHIDA went to work on his arm, and it paid off. This is likely a storylline injury, as having Dream on TV is horrible for WWE’s PR, given his recent scandals. Next, both Kyle O’Reilly & Finn Balor got checked out after their match, with Balor having called for the match to end a bit early due to a potentially injured jaw.
The confirmed matches for the night start and end at KUSHIDA vs. Tommaso Ciampa, which should be a great match for sure. There will be much more to come with NXT as usual, just need to tune in and see. What are you most looking forward to on tonight’s episode?
