Earlier in the night, Rhea Ripley tried to interrupt Ember Moon & Io Shirai, only to get jumped by Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez. Ember Moon came to Ripley’s aid, and that was enough for William Regal to set this main event up!
Rhea Ripley Gets Isolated Thanks To Raquel Gonzalez
Ember Moon would get things started with Dakota Kai with a flurry. She’s been on the shelf for too long, and isn’t showing any ring rust. Coming back from an ACL injury isn’t easy, but if you do it, you come back stronger than ever. She’d handle Dakota Kai with ease, but can’t match the power of Raquel Gonzalez.
Moon would try for the hurricanrana, only to be stopped in midair by Gonzalez. A dropkick stunned Gonzalez, but Moon would be taken into the corner and beat down, before Kai tagged back in. Moon would retake control and dive onto Kai on the outside, and Gonzalez looked to make the save before Ripley dived into her from the apron.
Ripley would be tagged in, and ran Kai through with a big boot, but missed the blind tag to Gonzalez, and ate a boot to the head herself as we went into a commercial break. Ripley would be isolated and unable to break past the powerhouse of Gonzalez to get to Ember Moon. We’ve never seen Ripley this vulnerable, a credit to the power of Gonzalez. Kai was tagged in, and this was her chance to make the tag. One flapjack later, and Moon was back in.
Ember Moon Is Back With Purpose
Ember Moon came in with a fury, taking the fight to both her opponents, chucking Kai into Gonzalez and hitting a flatliner to get her out. She’d slam Kai into the mat, and took complete control of this one quickly. Gonzalez would shove Kai out of the way of a strike and make her way back into the ring.
She’d pick Moon up, and have Kai kick her in the head before landing the powerslam. This got a two count, and she’d stun Gonzalez before tagging in Ripley as Kai made it back in. Ripley took control until Gonzalez tripped her up and let Kai nail the Kairopractor for a two count.
Moon would be tagged back in and nail a big lariat, before Gonzalez made another save. Ripley would help Moon take her out, and Kai would be planted with a powerbomb before going to the top rope. As if on cue, Gonzalez made the save, and Ripley wasn’t far behind. Kai attacked them, sending them over the desk, but ended up in position for The Eclipse from Moon.
There is no ring rust on Ember Moon, and it’s clear she’s back in NXT to dominate. Will she be next in line for an NXT Women’s Championship match? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
