Hello and welcome to WWE Raw Live Updates!
Tonight is the season premiere and looks like we’ll have some fun and interesting moments to celebrate.
Now’s a great time to grab some snacks, and WWE Raw Live Updates will be back at the 8 p.m. EST showtime.
Segment 1
The Fiend and Alexa Bliss opened the show, but Retribution came out and encircled them.
The lights went out, and the Fiend was gone and the Hurt Business came out and a brawl started.
The two factions have a tag match tonight, so we’re assuming that’s after the commerical break.
Segment 2
The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander) vs. Retribution (Mustafa Ali, T-Bar, Mace, Slapjack)
This started off as a really good match, and the Fiend appeared on the titantron as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
The Hurt Business won by submission after Lashley slapped in the Hurt Lock on T-Bar.
The Fiend then reappeared and destroyed Retribution single handed.
Segment 4
AJ Styles (w/Jordan Omogbehin) vs. Matt Riddle
This match started slow, as the focus was on Jordan debuting as Styles’ bodyguard. He was Shane McMahon’s bouncer for Raw Underground.
Segment 5
It was a pretty good match, and Jordan was instrumental in Styles winning after hitting a Styles Clash.
Segment 6
Drew McIntyre cut an asweome promo and said he might pop in during Randy Orton’s interview later on.
Raw Women’s Championship Asuka (c) vs. Lana
Asuka won with an Asuka Lock, and Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax attacked her from behind.
Jax Samoan dropped Lana through the announce table for the fifth time, and ASuka fought Baszler off and headed up the ramp.
The only surprise was the match lasted longer than a minute.
Segment 7
Fatal Four Way Tag Team Match – Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax (c) vs. The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan) vs. Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke vs. Peyton Royce and Lacey Evans
The introduction was a mess and so was the flips to take everyone out on the floor as we headed to commercial.
Also, weren’t the Iiconics spearated for Royce to have a singels run, and they put her back in a tag team with Lacey Evans?
Segment 8
Chaotic but fun explains this match best, and Jax and Baszler won after Jax his a Samoan Drop on Lacey Evans for the pin.
Segment 9
Elias’ concert went pretty well and he sounded good, but Jeff Hardy interupted his encore and swung a guitar at him claiming he didn’t hit him with that car.
Segment 10
Kofi Kingston (w/Xavier Woods) vs. Sheamus
This was a match to start with Sheamus getting the upper hand after bouncing Kingston off the ring apron as we headed to commerical.
Segment 11
A pretty good match continued Sheamus’ streak of talking tough and losing when Kingston hit a Trouble in Paradise for the win.
Ali cut a promo where he admitted he was the Smackdown Hacker, and he knows everyone’s secrets and he’ll use that to shut everything down.
Segment 12
Tucker introduced his partner, ElGrande Gordo, who was Otis in a Luchadore mask.
After the Miz went on a five minute insult laden tirade, Tucker and Otis attacked them and took over the ring. Looks like it’ll be a tag match after all.
Segment 13
The Miz and John Morrison vs. Tucker and ElGrande Gordo
This was a fun is comical match that Gordo won after hitting a Vader Bomb on the Miz for the pin.
Segment 14
Firefly Fun House
Wyatt was unpacking and it was a pretty cool segment as he said he misses his old friends on Smackdown, but can’t wait to make more on Raw.
A recap of the night’s events played, and he said he’s off to a good start.
At the end, Alexa Bliss entered the Fun House and said they’ve just began.
Segment 15
Braun Strowman vs. Keith Lee
This was a quick match, barely over 5 minutes. The story was Strowman’s ribs were injured from Roman Reigns’ assault on Smackdown.
Strowman won after hitting Lee below the belt with the back of hit head and hitting a big boot for the win.
Afterwards, Lee kicked him below the belt and berated him for not being a real monster and this was something Strowman didn’t want to deal with.
Segment 16
They had a Hell in a Cell set up for Orton’s promo, and Orton locked himself in, and we’re calling it now. McIntyre is already inside it.
Orton cut a great promo but was interupted by McIntyre, who came out fo the back.
Cool, we were wrong about him being in the cell.
So he pulled bolt cutters out from behind the barricade and cut the lock and entered the cell where Orton was in the ring with a steel chair.
McIntyre told him “Your a%% bleongs to me,” as he closed he cell door and the show ended.
Yep, that was it expect for specials the WWE will probably share online.
Okay, over all this was an okay show. The first two matches saved it, but it went downhill from there.
