WWE Raw Preview is all geared up for the Raw season premiere, and it looks like there’s a couple of interesting moments planned for tonight.
The matches that have been advertised have the potential to be good even if the outcomes are predictable.
Basically, we’re expecting a show similar to Smackdown’s season premiere, and we’re not sure how to feel about it.
Enough of us holding things up, let’s get to the breakdown.
Raw Women’s Championship Asuka (c) vs. Lana
This is a glorified squash match. Sure, Lana can make a good showing, but Asuka’s going to retain her championship either through disqualification or destroying Lana in a couple of minutes.
We think Natalya’s going to interfere and attack Lana for costing her her chance at the title last week as they push that feud.
Firefly Fun House makes its Raw return
It’s easy to forget, but prior to last year’s draft, Firefly Funhouse debuted on Raw in April 2019.
It was off to a fun start as Bray Wyatt’s new gimmick was presented and built upon prior to him being drafted to Smackdown during his feud with Seth Rollins, which continued.
Anyone else notice the draft was mainly a reset to last year?
Anyway, this fun segment will make it’s return and we may get a hint to who Wyatt and possibly Alexa Bliss will be going after next. This will definitely be a highlight of the show.
Keith Lee vs. Braun Strowman
This match has awesome potential to be a great clash of giants, but WWE Raw Preview thinks it’ll fall more in line with Strowman’s match against Reigns on Smackdown.
Basically, it’ll be the former Universal Champion taking most of the abuse as he puts over Keith Lee.
Sadly, both men seem to be lost as WWE Creative doesn’t appear to know what to do with them.
There is the possibility that Matt Riddle could appear here and he’ll team up with Lee to face Raw as former NXT performers trying to navigate the heady waters.
We highly doubt this will happen, but we never say never.
Elias in concert
Since his return last week by clubbing Jeff Hardy with his guitar, WWE Raw Preview expect Elias to turn heel as he gives a concert to celebrate his return.
Of course, we expect Jeff Hardy to interrupt him to a chorus of piped in cheers on the PA system, and Jeff will try to apologize for the accident, and probably point out Sheamus was the guilty party.
With that, we expect Sheamus to come out for his first Raw appearance following the draft and mock Jeff and Elias, cementing himself once more as a heel that’ll go leaps and bounds in creating a new feud.
This is going to be interesting simply because of the directions they could go.
Elias and Jeff would be a fun feud, but if Sheamus does interject himself, it’d also be fun to see him and Elias go at it.
We just hope that they don’t revisit the Jeff and Sheamus feud again. It ran it’s course and we need a new feud, now a continuation as it looks like will happen elsewhere.
Those are the scheduled segments, and WWE Raw Preview are giving them the benefit of the doubt that we’ll get something new and fresh with the changes that were made.
