To start things off, WWE Smackdown Results noticed Zayn’s midsection was taped up following their ladder match, and we’re kinda disappointed as we expected Hardy to come out with the other IC belt.
Hardy also clutched at his ribs, so we’re thinking this isn’t going to be too long a match, but we could be wrong.
The match started with a lock up and Zayn backed Hardy into the corner.
Zayne hit with a bunch of punches and kicks, and choked Hardy out on the mat. He’s super aggressive in this match and we love it.
Hardy fought back, hitting Zayne with several right hands before locking in a headlock. When Zayne threw him off the ropes, Hardy leveled him with a shoulder block.
Zayn then jumped up in what was either a botch or a planned move and looked to have caught Hardy in the face with this hands, and Zayn fell to the ring in pain.
Basically, Zayn looked to go for a leap frog as Hardy came off the ropes and Hardy didn’t duck.
Hardy then drove hm into one corner where he hit with a few shoulder blocks, then dragged him to the other corner to repeat the process, except hitting a kick that time, forcing Zayn to the floor.
Hardy went out after him and threw him in, but Zayne met him in the ring with a kick to the midsection, then his with a couple more rights and tried to slam Hardy’s face into a turnbuckle, but Hardy stopped him.
Oddly enough, the turnbuckle pad was missing and no one knew what happened to it.
Hardy then hit with a baseball slide that sent Zayn into the announce table, and missed a kick off the ring steps and Hardy hit the barricade.
Turnbuckle mystery solved
Back from commercial, Zayne had Hardy int headlock that Hardy fought out of with some elbows and a jawbreaker.
Zayne hit a clothesline for a near pinfall, and followed it with another pin attempt.
They also showed that Zayn removed the turnbuckle pad before the match started.
Zayne locked in a reverse chin lock, which Hardy tried to fight out of it but Zayn slammed him back to the mat.
Zayn then sent Hardy out of the ring. Zayne followed him out and drove Hardy back first into the barricade before throwing Hardy into the ring for a pair of pinfall attempts.
Zayne climbed to the second rope and hit with an elbow to the back of Hardy’s neck, but Hardy kicked out of the following pin attempt.
Zayne then hit with a body slam and climbed to the top rope, but Hardy caught him by running into the ropes and dropping Zayn on the turnbuckle.
Hardy then climbed up and hit Zayn with a superplex, but Hardy was too beat up to capitalize right away.
The referee started a ten count, and both men reached their knees at five before getting to their feet and exchanging blows in the middle of the ring.
Jeff hit with forearm off the ropes, an inverted atomic drop, double leg drop, sitting dropkick, and then a splash for a near pinfall.
Hardy went for a Twist of Fate, but Zayne countered it into a backslide for a near pinfall.
Hady then countered the Blur Thunder Bomb into a sunset flip for a near pinfall, and Zaayne followed it with an Exploder suplex into the corner to buy some time.
Zayne eyes the exposed turnbuckle as he climbed to his feet, then tried to throw Hardy into it, but Hardy held onto the top rope and fought out of it with a reverse mule kick.
Zayn dodged a charge into the corner by Hardy, and hit with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near pinfall.
Zayn the put Hardy on the top rope, but Hardy fought him off with punched to Zayn’s injured ribs and shoved him off the ropes.
Zayn got the knees up to counter Hardy’s swanton bomb.
Zayne missed his Helluva Kick on Hardy by the exposed turnbuckle, but stopped himself from hitting it.
Zayn pushed Hardy off when he tried his Twist of Fate, and then knocked Hardy off the top rope, causing Hardy to hit his head on the exposed turnbuckle, which knocked him out for the pinfall.
This episode was we expected and it wasn’t too bad over all. next week should be interesting with the WWE Draft going on.
