Drew McIntyre’s WWE Championship reign may have come to an end recently, but the Scot remains upbeat about what could come next in his career. There are still a number of things that McIntyre will be looking to achieve, with the most predictable of those being another run as the WWE Champion. However, McIntyre has recently revealed in an interview on In The Kliq that he has asked Triple H whether he would be able to fight on the NXT UK brand.
In the interview, he revealed that his reason to do so was down to the fact that he would love to wrestle in his home country on a platform as big as that show as it was never there when he first started. But, if that should happen, who could he potentially face?
WWE News: Walter
The standout name for all WWE fans would be Walter, who has been one of the most dominant athletes in the NXT UK brand since it was introduced. McIntyre also revealed in the interview that he would love to work with the Austrian, who is the current NXT UK Champion. Walter’s stock couldn’t be higher at the minute, as he has recently had one of the most gruelling matches of the year against Ilja Dragunov.
The match was one of the hardest hitting that we have seen in the WWE for some time, and McIntyre would have certainly been watching hoping that he could get involved in a physical match like that. McIntyre certainly has a history of physical matches, and you only need to look back at his rivalry with Orton to see that.
WWE News: Tyler Bate
Tyler Bate is regarded as one of the most exciting young wrestlers on any WWE brand. The 23-year-old was the first UK Champion, before losing the belt to Pete Dunne. It does seem as though its time that Bate steps out of the tag team division and starts competing in singles matches, and a bout against McIntyre could put him on the map.
He has already achieved great success alongside tag team partner and fellow Brummie Trent Severn, but there’s no doubting he is one of the brightest lights in the WWE, and could potentially be a future WWE Champion. There is no better opponent for him to come up against than the first ever British WWE world champion in McIntyre.
