Last night on Monday Night RAW, viewers noticed some nods to the late Jon Huber, better known under his ring names of Luke Harper & Brodie Lee. From Drew McIntyre doing his now iconic ‘It’s Monday, you know what that means’, to T-Bar and Xavier Woods doing his signature taunt, it was a nice set of tributes to Brodie Lee in addition to the show being dedicated to him with a graphic ahead of the event.
Some Felt WWE Didn’t Do Enough To Honor Him
Despite this, WWE caught some flack for not doing enough as a company to honor Brodie Lee. The loudest voice in regards to this was former WWE Tag Team Champion, Curt Hawkins, now Brian Meyers of Impact Wrestling. He replied to WWE on Twitter and said the following.
Meyers got a lot of support off this, but might have jumped the gun as WWE is working on filming content for a proper tribute to Brodie Lee.
Information On WWE’s Tribute To Brodie Lee
In news backed by PWInsider and Sean Ross Sapp, WWE was filming content for a Brodie Lee tribute. It was taped prior to Monday Night RAW going to air, and likely just wasn’t ready in time. WWE might not always be of high standards, but their video packages are second to none. Especially with something like a tribute package to someone as beloved as Brodie Lee, you can’t rush it.
We don’t know at this time when or how this tribute will air, but it will likely be this Friday on Smackdown Live. It’s possible they air it during NXT, but that might be viewed as being in poor taste as AEW Dynamite is fully dedicated to Brodie Lee. Smackdown Live was also home to many of his best moments in WWE, namely his run with Erick Rowan as The Bludgeon Brothers and his feud with Randy Orton.
