Three Expected Teams For The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic
Announced during the tag team match between Breezango & Grizzled Young Veterans, in two weeks time we will see the next edition of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Last year’s winners were Pete Dunne & Matt Riddle, who won’t be entering this year as Riddle has left NXT.
Despite this, we can easily guess three of the teams who will be entering this tournament. Last year, Grizzled Young Veterans made it all the way to the finals, and after beating Imperium & Breezango back to back, are arguably favorites to win.
Ever-Rise have been slowly but surely rising up the ranks, and might be a dark horse pick for this year’s tournament. They’ve been tag team partners since 2002, and their chemistry is unmatched.
Finally, Breezango should be making their way into the tournament. Despite getting a huge win and becoming NXT Tag Team Champions finally, 2020 was a rough year. Add in closing out 2020 by losing to Grizzled Young Veterans, and they need to start 2021 off with a bang.
Undisputed Era Announced Their Entrants Into The Tournament
While we can predict those three above teams will be in the tournament, we know one who will be entering. Undisputed Era are two time winners of the tournament, and this year it’s Adam Cole & Roderick Strong representing the faction.
If they win, they get to face Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch for the NXT Tag Team Championships. We all know they’re able to beat them, they did it in straight up wrestling matches and in WarGames. If Kyle O’Reilly beats Finn Balor to become NXT Champion, we could be in for Gold Rush 2.0.
