Vickie Guerrero has spoken on her life in the WWE as well as touching on her late husband, Eddie Guerrero.

Vickie Guerrero Remembers Her Late Husband Eddie Guerrero

During an interview with the AEW Unrestricted podcast, she revealed how she almost quit the wrestling scene following her husband’s death. She said: “I did. After we inducted Eddie into the Hall of Fame, me and my girls and Chavo, there was Chris and Rey; I thought, this is it. This is the extent of where I’m supposed to be in the wrestling family.

“I left for some months to first take care of my girls because we were going through so much at home. To be able to step away, I don’t think I was really paying attention to the wrestling business that much. However, destiny had other plans as Vickie was offered a chance to stay on and what was meant to be something on a short term basis turned into a full-blown career.

She continued: “When Johnny called me, it probably was August and said, ‘Hey, we would like to bring you in for like a few months just to help with some of the storylines and keep Eddie’s name and memory alive.’ I told him, ‘Just two months because I have the girls.’

“We were living, and Phoenix and I was trying to sell my house to go to El Paso. He said, ‘Sure, just two months. That’s fine.’ Two months and I was memorizing promos, and I was doing really well. They were like, ‘We want to extend you another year and see how it goes.’

A year ended up being ten years. I sit back still amazed that I was able to go that long as a Superstar.” And Vicky signed off by predicting what Eddie would be doing if he were still alive today: “He always wanted to open up his own wrestling school right before he passed away. I think he would have been a great agent. I think that would have been something he would have loved to have done was mentor a lot of the younger guys.

“I can see him being an actor because he was so entertaining.” All praise must go to Vickie, who stayed strong in the face of such adversity.
