The calls for Bobby Lashley to take on some huge names have been increasing by the day, following the end of his 16-year title drought with a victory over The Miz on Raw. And one name that continues to crop up is Brock Lesner.

In a Q&A session with The Wrap, Bobby stated how Brock’s name came up the moment he entered the wrestling scene, but he was unaware as to why. He said: “I have no idea […] The thing with Brock is everybody has been saying that basically from the day that I came into wrestling. They were like, ‘Oh man, there’s Lesnar. Him and Brock. Brock, Brock, Brock!’ The whole entire time.”
On closer inspection, the answer is simple. Both are physical specimens in their own right, given that they are both known for their intense training regimes. Added to that, both are similar in age with Bobby being 44, whereas Brock stands at the age of 43. Naturally, the anticipation for a big showdown has been brewing. Bobby, though, remains uninterested for the moment.
He added: “I know I spoke with somebody that was really close to him and they just said, no, it’s just not the time. The only one I can really ask in that manner is [Paul] Heyman, because no one else really talks to Brock, that I know of. I don’t talk to Brock, I really don’t even know Brock that much.”
He has not ruled out the bout, but feels there is bigger fish to fry. So who does Bobby have on his list of opponents? It looks like Drew McIntyre would be a more viable option given that he has beaten Brock. He continued: “I think even a bigger match – because you can’t just overstep Drew [McIntyre]. Drew beat him last year at WrestleMania.
“Drew is, if you wanted to paint a picture of a champion, that’s what they look like. So beating Drew is the one.” Whether or not Brock will face Bobby is anyone’s guess. But the demand for it seems to be there, and time will tell whether such a match up will go ahead.
