WWE NXT Results: Mercedes Martinez & Aliyah vs. Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart [NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship Match]

Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon were able to win the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships on the first night of the belts existence, and are now ready to make their first defense. They have Robert Stone Brand members Aliyah & Jessi Kamea, who are a budding tag team who have all the skills to force this upset victory tonight.

However, an injury to Kamea put this in jeopardy. Stone pooled all his money to bribe Mercedes Martinez, and she demanded ‘the other half’ after the match. If Moon & Blackheart are able to win tonight, it’ll be the first successful defense of these titles. But if Mercedes & Aliyah win, we know where all the money from the pay window is going.

Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart Close This One Out In A Hurry

Moon would start with Martinez, who dropped Moon and stomped on her chest. Martinez would be dropped with a facebuster before sending her into the corner. Moon & Blackheart double teamed Martinez in the corner, and Stone took a fit at ringside. This distraction let Martinez hit a running big boot, and get her a tag to Aliyah.

Aliyah knowing this is her first title match ever has turned it up tonight, and took Moon off the apron before hitting a double team facebuster with Martinez. This got a two count, before Moon tagged in and nearly kicked Aliyah’s head off. Moon hit a powerbomb, and Martinez hit a knee strike to the head. Blackheart would isolate Martinez on the outside, and Moon was able to hit the Eclipse in the ring for the win.

This was a quick title defense, and now Robert Stone is potentially bankrupt. It’s clear that Moon & Blackheart are really gelling as a tag team, and they’ll be defending their titles at NXT Takeover: Stand & Deliver. Who will step up to challenge them next?
