Warzone event and the aftermath has been slightly underwhelming. The Nuke event was slightly small for how long they were testing the event. Then afterwards, the new map wasn’t new at all. It feels like just a slight reskin of the original map.
Fans of the Warzone have gone on to mention this. It has also been made fun of through different media platforms. Saying that it’s different but still kind of the same. But this may be the start of some hopefully bigger changes down the line.
Going further in time to the 1940s
It has been mentioned that Warzone may not change in time for the next Call of Duty game rumoured to be set back in WWII. However, it would make a lot of sense if the next massive change for Warzone would be going further into the past. If they are going down this route, a lot more needs to change in the map.
Also in Verdansk is a fictional country that is said to be close to Russia. It could be that one of the battles of WWII takes place in Verdansk. The battle could change the landscape massively and even bring in two sides of CPU enemies through the map.
Aliens may invade
In a Call of Duty game, Aliens is a weird choice for the series and still hasn’t connected well, unlike zombies. But there have been some slight teases through skins and elements. It is in a different storyline that aliens have invaded Warzone and maybe even caused the zombies in the long run. This connected a lot of story elements of Warzone.
It feels like aliens may have a dominant place in Warzone in the future and maybe even take Warzone into a more fictional feel to keep the story surprising throughout.
