Andrei, who is married to Elizabeth Potthast, has been criticised over not providing for his wife. Although he has a clear direction on where he wants to go (the property development sector), he is unwilling to back that enthusiasm with some cash of his own. Not to worry, though, Andrei sees it as a family affair.
In an interview with Us Weekly, he said: “Well, the thing is, he helped all his kids. He gave them capital to start working, and they’re all working over there sucking from the pie, so I’m just going to join in. Like, why not? If there’s [a lot of] money, why not?” But for all the boldness that Andrei is showing, Elizabeth’s dad (Chuck Potthast) saw it differently.
Andrei could be forgiven for asking for a relatively small amount of money, but what he was after was something much more: $100,000, to be precise. And the response from Chuck, like so many of the readers, was utmost shock. During an episode of the show, Chuck could not hide his disbelief at how Andrei approached the topic, let alone the amount.
He stated: “I really can’t believe he has the audacity to call a meeting and ask me to loan him $100,000. It’s unbelievable, really. I don’t even know what to say.” Despite the huge risk that Andrei was taking, he promised his father-in-law that he would take full responsibility. While this could have been viewed as an act of courage, it could also be interpreted as a slap in the face.
After all, Andrei was expecting Chuck to bankroll a project merely on his say so. And yet, Andrei reassured fans that everything between him and Chuck was ok. He added: “My relationship with my father-in-law is ok. We’ve been through some rough times, but it’s ok. I would not say that it’s bad.” The only way that Andrei can restore some confidence is to make sure that he pulls off his business projects.
