Dave Bautista had to choose between The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn. Who he has the utmost respect for as he gave him his big break in his career as an actor. With Bautista refusing to work on Guardians of the Galaxy without James Gunn. Or Zack Snyder’s new Netflix as the lead in the film Army of the Dead.
We know that Bautista chose Army of the Dead. By now, we have had comments on why he decided Army of the Dead over Suicide Squad in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
What Dave Bautista had to say:
Dave Bautista continued to comment on why he chose Amy of the Dead.
“So at the time it was a supporting role, a great film, but really I was just doing it because it was with James Gunn and I just wanted to work with my friend. Whereas in Army of the Dead, it had so many things in it that would advance my career. It was a lead role. It was on Netflix that I wanted to build a relationship with. It was great that I would be able to add ambition and depth to the character. It was also working with Zack Synder, who was the director that had pursued for years. I wanted to work with Zack for year-long before I even met Zack, but when I did meet him, we were trying to get this other project running for two years before Army of Dead was even a conversation or mentioned. So after all them leading factor, I deciding with Army of the Dead.”
Who replaced Dave Bautista?
After this, a question was asked who replaced Dave Bautista in the role. Dave didn’t go on to clarify who took his role after he left the project. But after reading through this, we are speculated. That could have John Cena replaced in the role. Due to Dave saying that it was a supporting role at the time. John Cena’s character is having a spin-off series about his character.
