Kim Kardashian has given her take on the rumours that she has not been paying her staff.

The Keeping up with Kardashians star has gotten herself into some unwanted trouble after a lawsuit had been filed for unpaid wages and lack of documentation proving the existence of a working relationship. And it all came to a head during an Instagram Q&A when one fan asked the following: “Do you pay ur employed lolz?”
Naturally, Kim sought to clear up any misunderstandings. She has been under a lot of financial strain of late, which has not been helped by her impending divorce with Kanye West. She is set to give up a significant proportion of her wealth to the rapper in light of the financial consequences of the divorce.
And this has led to suggestions that Kim is looking to cut corners in other departments. Nevertheless, she replied: “Absolutely, I respect people for their time and their hard work, and unfortunately, these workers are suing the wrong person. I paid the vendor, and it’s their job to pay their staff.”
But on closer inspection, the lawsuit goes beyond what Kim has said above. Various plaintiffs have reportedly expressed huge concerns over the lack of ethical treatment they received during their employment.
One staff member claimed that Kim was looking to avoid tax by not being financially transparent, while another staff member suggested they were made to work more than their allocated hours. And to make matters worse, one plaintiff suggested they were fired when asking about overtime pay.
The lawyers on behalf of the victims said: “Wage theft and other workplace violations are a widespread problem in Los Angeles. My firm is currently investigating other potential violations against these defendants, as well as other powerful families.”
We will have to see what the consequences of this are going to be, but if Kim has been found to be flouting employment laws, then she will have to navigate things carefully. After all, she has a brand on the line which is going to be tested. We will have to see how this will all play out.
