UFC President Dana White’s Candid Statement Reignites BIG Jon ‘Bones’ Jones Controversy!

It could be said that the novel of the year in mixed martial arts has starred Jon Jones and Dana White. The fighter’s criticism to UFC started a series of cross statements that show the professional as a loser, since he walked away from his title shot against Francis Ngannou. This time it was the businessman who raised his voice to give his opinion about the American.

UFC Saturday had Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira as protagonists. After the end of the event, the president of the company participated in the press conference as usual. One of the main topics was the situation with Jones as the first challenger for Ngannou is still unknown despite speculation that it will be Derrick Lewis.

UFC: DANA WHITE’S CANDID STATEMENT ABOUT JON JONES THAT COULD REIGNITE CONTROVERSY

True to his style, the manager was not very concerned about the negotiations. This is because the answer is in the fighter’s hands, according to White. The problem currently is that the sports entity is not willing to offer him a championship fight and that fight is the only one Jones is interested in.

During the press conference at the Toyota Center, the UFC president responded honestly: “If Jon Jones wants to fight, he can. If he doesn’t, he doesn’t have to. No one is going to force Jon Jones to fight.” It should be recalled that the businessman wanted the American to face Stipe Miocic, who lost to the Cameroonian and lost his heavyweight belt.

In any case, there is no doubt that the fighter’s trajectory in the octagon is very remarkable. Even his last fight was a victory that served him to have the light heavyweight championship but then decided to leave it vacant to seek new challenges. White sought to praise his great performances in his career: “He has an incredible legacy. He’s had a great career and I see him as the best right now.”

Another factor that seems to be a determining factor in the management’s plans is that the fighter has been inactive since February 2020 in UFC. His victory over Dominick Reyes was the last time he entered the octagon, making it urgent to schedule a fight, especially given his age. It is expected that there will be news about the next challenge he will have in the coming weeks.
