Over the past few weeks on WWE NXT, we’ve seen odd vignettes that simply show a battery charging. Very little information has been given about what these could mean, leading to a lot of speculation from fans. After finally figuring out who Diamond Mine was last night on NXT, let’s turn our attention to what is now at 51% charge.
Leading Theory Is A Return From Injury
The first thought that most fans had is that this is leading up to a return to NXT. A lot of focus was placed onto Roderick Strong, who quit NXT following the breakup of The Undisputed Era. However, he made his return last night during the debut of Diamond Mine, a new faction featuring Roderick Strong, Tyler Rust, Hideki Suzuki & Malcolm Bivens.
However, the theory of this being a return from injury makes sense. Someone is recharging, and is halfway to being back. Two members of the men’s division that have been out with injuries are Kona Reeves, who suffered an injury back in 2019 and has been away from TV since, and Ridge Holland who blew out his legs just ahead of WarGames in 2020. However, Reeves would be doing something more grand for his return, and Holland is only just starting to rehab in the Performance Center.
Tegan Nox Makes The Most Sense
So with Strong out of the mix, and Reeves & Holland simply not making sense, we turn our attention to the Women’s division. There is only one major name on the injured list there, that being Tegan Nox. The 26 year old is out with a torn ACL, having gone down around the September 23rd, 2020 episode of NXT where they wrote her off TV in a backstage attack from Candice LeRae.
Nox has been constantly giving updates, and Triple H confirmed back in January she had already undergone surgery. Earlier this month while on The Bump, Nox both came out of the closest as Bisexual, and mentioned that it wasn’t her first rodeo with injury and things were going well. An ACL injury generally takes six to nine months, and that puts Nox on schedule for a return.
