Next week at the Great American Bash, Kyle O’Reilly & Adam Cole meet once again in the ring. Last time was an unsanctioned brawl, but this time it will be a straight up singles match. Tonight, O’Reilly has some words for his former Future Shock & Undisputed Era ally.
Adam Cole Gets Interrupted
O’Reilly has always been looking for one thing in wrestling. He wants to fight people who make him better. That is what he had last week with KUSHIDA, and what he will have again next week with Adam Cole. When last they met, Cole fell to Kyle O’Reilly, and has just had one excuse after another since then. O’Reilly has proved he can hang in the main event, and wants Cole to finally address this.
Before Cole could hit the ring, Samoa Joe would make his way to the ramp with an army of security. In respect for the safety of both men, he’s here to ensure this won’t end in a brawl. Cole wouldn’t be pleased about being interrupted, but knows that O’Reilly wishes he could just be Adam Cole. Even just half the career Cole had would be enough for O’Reilly.
Is Kyle O’Reilly The Obsessed One?
Cole feels O’Reilly is obsessed with him, but O’Reilly is the one who beat Cole, put him in the hospital and out of action for six weeks, and when Cole was back? He went right after O’Reilly. However, Cole would claim that even before NXT, he was the one who made the career of O’Reilly.
From ROH to NJPW to NXT, Cole has always been the one carrying O’Reilly. Adam Cole was the star of the Undisputed Era, and still is the only star to come from it. The locker room knows it, Samoa Joe knows it, and even O’Reilly’s wife knows it. This got O’Reilly fired up, and he is ashamed he’s wasted so much of his career with someone as awful as Cole.
Joe would stop a brawl briefly, but let a heel hook from O’Reilly linger because what he knows is Cole deserves it. Security was called down, and O’Reilly stood tall.
