Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
I’m your host, CP Bialois, and we’re set for what should be an interesting night as Roman Reigns celebrates his win last week in a Hell in a Cell against Rey Mysterio and an appearance by John Cena could happen.
We’re going to get things settled and be back for the 8 p.m. EST showtime to get WWE Smackdown Live Results off and running.
Segment 1
Roman Reigns told Jimmy Uso to prove he’s worth being his right hand man.
Bianca Belair came out and said she’s proud of defeating Bayley, and the news broke in as Seth Rollins came out to give updates for the ongoing rescue efforts in Seaside, Florida where the condominium collapsed.
We’ll return to our coverage when we can.
Segment 2
Back from the newsbreak break, Shinsuke Nakamura had a coronation ceremony, but we spent the time back stage as Rollins told Deville and Pearce he wants a shot at Roman Reigns and the Universal Championship.
Segment 3
Money in the Bank Qualifying Match – Big E vs. Apollo Crews w/Commander Azeez
Big E started off in control and had a couple of pin attempts, but Crews fought back and hit a Death Valley Driver as we headed to commercial.
Segment 4
A great match ended when Big E hit a Big Ending after the ref caught Azeez about to nail Big E with a Nigerian Nail and kicked Azeez out.
Big E took advantage to his his finisher and move onto the MITB Ladder Match.
Segment 5
Sonya Deville announced Carmella as her first selection for the Women’s Money in the Bank match, and Live Morgan came out and pointed out she beat her last week.
So, Deville set a match up between them after the commercial to get in.
Segment 6
Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Match – Liv Morgan vs. Carmella
This was a decent match that Morgan won with a rollup after Carmella dominated throughout.
Segment 7
Jimmy Uso vs. Dolph Ziggler w/Robert Roode
Jimmy started it off ultra aggressive and really pushed Ziggler, but Ziggler managed to stay a live and hit a Zigzag on Jimmy on the ring stairs as we headed to commercial.
Segment 8
A good match ended after a series of back and forths before Jimmy hit Ziggler with a superkick for the win.
Segment 9
Universal Championship address
Heyman said there was no one else for Reigns to face, so they were ready to do something never done before, but before Reigns could say anything Edge came out and the two went at it.
Edge tried for a Con-Chair-To but Jimmy came out to stop him, so Edge speared him through the barricade in what’s become an almost every week thing.
Reigns retreated up the ramp while Edge told him he’s right there.
This was a pretty decent Smackdown, though we weren’t able to see the opening match, and the ending was pretty awesome.
