This Sunday sees the latest edition of the popular WWE event, Money in The Bank. The biggest prize on that show is a briefcase which allows the winner to call their shot in a title match. This can be done at anytime, and presumably for any championship, though most use it to try and claim one of the top championships. However, Riddle might not do this if he wins this Sunday, having referenced other plans.
Matt Riddle Wants Randy Orton Back
It has been a while since the tag team partner of Riddle, Randy Orton, has been seen on WWE TV. Orton hasn’t been around since the June 21st episode of Monday Night RAW, and Riddle has been very concerned as shown by an appearance on RAW Talk this past Monday.
“I’m really concerned. I went to the Tampa Police Department to report that Randy is missing. When they asked me to identify myself, I said I’m Randy’s bro. They’re like, ‘you’re not bros, you don’t have the same last names.’ I had to explain to them that I’m still his bro.”
However, things got interesting when he’d mention how he was dedicating his performance at Money In The Bank to Orton, and has interesting plans in mind. “If I win, I’m going to shock the world and cash in on the Tag Team Champions. Everyone’s going after the world title, but maybe it’s not my time to do that.”
Second Time WWE Has Brought Up This Idea
This is the second year in a row that these plans have been referenced. Last year, when Otis won Money in the Bank, he’d cash in the briefcase on behalf of Heavy Machinery. Instead, Otis simply never got a chance to cash in period, and would lose the briefcase to The Miz who was able to become WWE Champion.
Now, WWE has another chance to shake up the Money in the Bank formula. Fans are into this RKBro storyline due to the antics of Riddle, and having him use the contract to lure Orton back to TV would be a fun use of a concept that has been getting fairly stale in recent years.
Do you think Riddle will win the Money In The Bank contract? Will he stay true to his word and use it to boost RKBro? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
