We’re standing on the cusp of another world changing Slammiversary, and there’s two questions begging to be answered in response to a mystery opponent and tag partner.
This is what’s fun about this time of year, and while there are bound to be plenty of other surprises, we think we have the mystery Knockouts figured out.
Which means we’re probably wrong, but we’re going to roll the dice and see what happens.
Mickie James to challenge Deonna Purrazzo

After her latest win, the Virtuoso stated she’s so good she doesn’t need to know who she’s going to face next.
In response, Gail Kim came out to offer her respect and a challenge, and after a misunderstanding where Purrazzo thought Kim was challenging her, Kim set her straight.
Kim set up an all time great to face Purrazzo at Slammiversary for the Knockouts Championship, but the legend’s identity will remain unknown until she walks out for the match.
We’re expecting her challenger to be Mickie James.
Not only would it be a great way for James to close out her career if she can pull out the win, but it comes after her announcement about wanting the best women to compete in a all women PPV for the NWA.
Laurel Van Ness (Chelsea Green) to team with Matt Cardona

Cardona returned and was blindsided by Tenille Dashwood’s low blow when he defended Jake Something and confronted Brian Myers.
Afterwards, Scott D’Amore told him he’ll set up a match between him and Myers, and he added a twist as Tenille will be Myers’ partner and Cardona can pick his own partner.
As with the Knockouts Championship, Cardona’s opponent will probably be a kept a mystery until their match, but we think it’ll be Laurel Van Ness.
There are a couple of reasons for our pick, and the first is she’s engaged to Cardona, so it makes sense she’d come to Impact Wrestling even if it’s just for a couple of matches.
It all depends on her contractual status with AEW.
The other reason is on their Twitch channel, they’ve been playing a lot of Laurel Van Ness highlights during their weekly IMPACT! show.
