The last couple of months Bayley has been the nightmare for Bianca Belair to deal with as WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion but it’s been announced she’s injured and will miss 9 months.
Reports indicate that Bayley injured herself during training and the WWE will name her replacement to face Bianca Belair at Money in the Bank for the Smackdown Women’s title.
They were scheduled for a I Quit match at the pay-per-view next week, but now the promotion will need to call an audible.
This could mean anything from Charlotte Flair challenging for both titles, to Liv Moran getting a shot, or even bringing back Becky Lynch since she’s reportedly been in the Performance Center recently.
Sasha Banks is another possibility as she’s been absent from WWE TV since losing her championship.
Banks is probably the safest bet to fill in for Bayley as it wouldn’t take much for her to be written in since she, Bayley, and Belair have a shared history.

Bad timing
This news couldn’t have come at a worse time as Belair is still early on in her title reign and Bayley was the perfect opponent to really put her over.
The WWE made the announcement on social media earlier today:
“BREAKING NEWS:
@itsBayleyWWE has suffered an injury while training and will be out approximately nine months.
A replacement for her match against @BiancaBelairWWE at #MITB will be announced tonight on #SmackDown.”
This is a blow to an already depleted Smackdown women’s roster following the releases, leaving six active wrestlers available to pull a challenger from.
This is a tough break for Bayley and Belair as we have no doubt they had a great match planned, and we wish for Bayley to have a safe and speedy recovery.
Accidents happen, but we hate it when someone’s injured. Especially to the point of missing nine months, which sounds like possible tendon or ligament damage but we won’t know for sure until there’s an official statement.
Until then, we’re curious who will take her place while she’s recovering and what kind of match can we expect at Money in the Bank.
