KofiMania is still very fresh in the minds of fans. Kofi Kingston making his long awaited trip to the main event and defeating Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship is one of the greatest moments in Wrestlemania history. So when he started to get some major wins recently on Monday Night RAW, people got excited that we could see the same thing happen tonight.
Kingston has fired up Lashley, by claiming that MVP has made Lashley soft. A shock win from Xavier Woods and tag team win over MVP & Lashley has the momentum in the corner of Kingston tonight, but Lashley is ready to prove that he’s still a killer.
Bobby Lashley Throws Kingston Around The Ring
Kingston is fired up in this match, knowing that this is his chance to get back on top. MVP grabbed his leg at the start but Kofi dodged the spear and got a roll up for one. Kingston came out of the corner with a double stomp, before Lashley planted him with a spinebuster. Lashley caught a kick and nailed a heavy lariat, before Kingston was forced into the corner.
Kingston came back with a pendulum kick over the ropes, before Lashley planned him into the ring with a spinebuster once again. Lashley would press slam Kingston over the top rope, before following up on the outside by running Kingston into the ring post head first. Kingston spun out before crashing to the floor again. Lashley would look to nail Kingston off the post again, and succeeded.
No Hope For Kofi Kingston
Just minutes into this match, Lashley might have Kingston down and out. Back in the ring, Kingston could barely stand as the crowd cheered him over… only for Lashley to nail a hard running forearm. Lashley would hit an elevated flatliner, and let Kingston try to climb up his leg. The Hurt Lock would be applied, and Kingston would need to slip out only to be thrown across the ring.
Kingston was still fighting but Lashley took him back down before mauling him with some ground and pound. The Dominator would be nailed, Lashley bringing back an old favorite as the fans boo’d. A second would plant Kingston, and the referee would all but beg Lashley to cover and end this. Kingston was taken up for a third, and Lashley shushed the crowd. He’d pull him up into the Hurt Lock, and Kingston was limb before weakly tapping out.
This was an absolute mauling. Kingston kept on fighting, but never was able to get the hope spot after the beatdown began. Lashley toyed with a former WWE Champion, and never got a chance to be shown that was a bad idea. Match Rating: 2/5 (**)
