After last week’s surprise challenge by Finn Balor, Roman Reigns will not shift his focus to him instead of John Cena this week and WWE Smackdown Preview doesn’t expect it to last for long.
After last week’s Smackdown and over the weekend the two crossed paths in 6 man tag matches with the Usos and Mysterios, and Cena got to hit his best moves.
But Reigns declined his challenge and accepted Balor’s and now he’s going to focus squarely on him while the “Summer of Cena” reloads to make the SummerSlam match a triple threat.
There could be a possible singles match between Balor and one of the Usos, but more likely Balor could have a backstage run in with them with the Mysterios coming to his aid like they did Cena.
Or Balor could fight them both off himself and establish himself as more then a legitimate threat to Reigns.
Cesaro’s Intercontinental Championship chase
Last week, Cesaro expressed his desire for the Intercontinental Championship Apollo Crews currently has, and with Shinsuke Nakamura at his side he’s more than capable of doing so and dealing with Commander Azeez.
But there’s also the possibility that Big E will remain in the picture despite winning the Money in the Bank contract, giving us the feeling he could cash in for the Intercontinental Championship.
This is one we’re expecting after how badly the WWE handled the MITB storyline last year, and storylines aren’t as important as having big names so we’re confident this will be mishandled again.
Although, Big E could cash in at SummerSlam against Reigns.
If the focus is shifting to Cesaro feuding with Crews, then Big E will probably shift to more of a backstage role for the time being as his storyline is built up.
Street Profits finally get payback
After being dominated and mauled for a while by Alpha Academy, the Street Profits are starting to show life again and this week we think we’re going to see them take another bite out of Chad Gable and Otis.
Maybe not Otis. He’s still built up as an unstoppable monster, so they’ll try to separate him and Gable and focus on the smaller member to gain some payback.
The real match for the Street Profits to gain sweet revenge will come at SummerSlam, and that’s going to be a fun one.
