Kim Faced Roadblocks On Law School Journey
Fans recall that two years ago, Kim Kardashian shared that she was starting a four-year program to become a lawyer. Kim’s major reason for studying law is because of her late dad, Robert Kardashian Sr., who was a well-known attorney. Kim also has passion for prison reform
. “I had to think long and hard about this,” the KUWTK star said about her decision to pursue a law degree. “I just feel like the system could be so different and I want to fight to fix it. If I know more, I could do more,” she added, according to Vogue. Fans mocked her for her decision to become a lawyer.
Many thought a model, influencer, and reality star shouldn’t become a lawyer, and she responded to critics, saying, “I want people to understand that there is nothing that should limit your pursuit of your dreams and the accomplishment of new goals. You can create your own lanes.” Kim has however, faced some roadblocks on her law school journey.
Kim is taking a special route to become a lawyer because she doesn’t have an undergraduate degree. She had to take a preliminary exam called the baby bar. “If you do law school the way that I am doing it, it is a four year program instead of your typical three year program, and after year one, you have to take the baby bar,” she explained in a confessional during a KUWTK episode.
The mother of four also shared that the baby bar exam is more difficult than the official bar. Sitting in a room with momager, Kris Jenner, and her sisters, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian, Kim said, “So, you guys, I did not pass the baby bar.” Kim’s mentor, Jessica Jackson stated that she scored 474, but she needed a minimum of 560. Kim studied for the exam “six weeks straight, 10 to 12 hours a day.”
What’s Kim’s Next Move?
Kim also said that, “It was so important for me to take this, and to not pass gets your spirit down and makes you want to give up.” She also explained how the worst part was the time she spent away from her then-husband, Kanye West and children, only to end up feeling like a “failure.” She said, “Like I can’t do it again, I don’t have time.” Jessica added, “That is extremely close on a test that most people are not taking in the middle of a pandemic.”
Kim is yet to share her next move concerning her law degree. Perhaps, she would try again. However, she feels frustrated about failing and also complained about finding it difficult to study due to her hectic lifestyle. Fans won’t be shocked to find out that Kim has given up on her law dreams due to this setback. She has a lot on her plate as a mother, business owner, and an influencer.
