WWE, over the past couple of years, has said that AEW is not a competitor. However, all moves that WWE has made in the past couple of years show that isn’t true. Changing NXT’sNXT’s day to compete with AEW trying to hire their wrestlers just before they sign with AEW and with interviews taking shots at the company. A new interview with Roman Reigns didn’t hold back on CM Punk and former stablemate Dean Ambrose now going by Jon Moxley in an interview with BT Sports. It should be noted this shot has been taken days before CM Punk is highly speculated to debut on AEW, seeming like he is trying to take some hype away from that debut.

“When it comes down to it, CM Punk was not as good or as over as John Cena. He was not as good or as over or moved the needle-like The Rock. It just was what it was. From a full-time performer, I understand the frustration and wanting more. But like I said before, you’ve gotta take it.”

“Dean [Moxley], obviously, is doing what Dean is doing. I think he’s happy over there at AEW. If he could have been the man here (in WWE), he would have been the man here, but he couldn’t be the man because I’m the man,”
It could be that Roman Reigns is going down the heel route by shooting on some of the most popular wrestlers in AEW and also shooting at one of the most anticipated returns in recent memory. If this is true, this is a great move for Roman Reigns, but if it’s not well. CM Punk set up the massive impact of the indies taking over WWE. Jon Moxley built AEW into what it is today.
