We’re drawing closer to SummerSlam, and WWE Smackdown Preview is set for a couple of fun confrontations that’ll cement and hype up some of the biggest matches for SummerSlam.
It looks like we’re going to have mainly setup moments to get things going, with a probably surprise like Becky Lynch possibly appearing during the Smackdown Women’s Championship contract signing.
Since we’re on that topic…
Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks contract signing
Last week, Belair responded to Banks’ betrayal by accepted the former Smackdown Women’s Champion’s challenge.
We feel safe in saying that’s going to be an awesome match, but we also expect something more to come from this contract signing.
By nature, contract signings are chaotic and generally end in a brawl. In this case, a fight may break out, in which case Belair will own the ring to look unbeatable.
But there could be a surprise like Becky Lynch returns.
As much as we’d like to see it happen, rumor has it she’ll appear at SummerSlam. But this could be the perfect time to at least have her walk out. Maybe Sonya Deville will bring her in for added security?
Intercontinental Championship – Apollo Crews (c) w/Commander Azeez vs. King Nakamura w/Rick Boogs
King Nakamura had Apollo Crews on the verge of defeat and earning himself a shot at the Intercontinental Championship, but Commander Azeez got Crews disqualified.
All Azeez did was hand a title shot to Nakamura and the two are expected to face each other tonight for the championship.
This is going to be an interesting match and we would love to see Nakamura come out the winner, but we have a feeling Azeez will play a role in it and a DQ loss won’t hurt this time.
Roman Reigns and John Cena face off
We’re going to get another Reigns and Cena face off as they continue hyping up their SummerSlam match.
With the pay-per-view right around the corner, we think we’re going to see Cena in action, at least a little bit, aside from dark matches.
This could lead to a 6 man tag match with him and the Mysterios against Reigns and the Usos, or he could simply fight the Usos off in the ring.
We’ll get to see some of Cena’s moves again to help get us ready for next week.
Or they can exchange barbs again to tease us there’ll be something bigger for the fourth week in a row.
Still, it should be pretty cool to see the next step they take.
