Intergender wrestling is pretty cool when we get to see what the wrestlers come up with to cross the boundary of one being a man and the other a woman, and it often comes down to a simple formula: one wrestler preparing for another.
This is a hot button topic for many because in society we’re taught not to hit women for good reason, so seeing men and women striking each other really touches a nerve with many.
What makes the current feud with Chelsea Green and Rohit Raju is it touches those points as well as keeping it grounded in a typical storyline of revenge and payback.

Keeping it real
While Green being Cardona’s fiancé adds a cool layer to their feud with Rohit and Shera, it’s not the whole mechanism.
Yes, it gets us more involved as fans, but in many ways it’s similar to Cardona having a tag partner injured in that he sought retribution and now it’s his partner’s turn.
The fact that Rohit Raju plays such an awesome heel really helps them get to another level for their part, and on tonight’s IMPACT, Green will face Rohit to get her pound of flesh and end the feud.
It’s come to this point as a couple of weeks back, Rohit Raju hit a Tiger Knee to Chelsea Green to win their mixed tag team match.
The move was clean and legal and she accepted it by agreeing to take part in a mixed tag team match, which Rohit wasted no time in pointing out gleefully as he celebrated later on.
Cardona didn’t appreciate it and that pushed things to the next level understandably so. This is an exciting feud and it’s great to see boundaries being tested.
The downside
This is one of the reasons so many fans are against these matches since it’s easy to turn it into a storyline like this, but the biggest reason is it’s hard to believe Green or most other could defeat Shera or Cardona.
Getting back to the first reason, when it comes to storytelling, it’s can quickly become convoluted in fans’ minds about the reasoning behind Cardona’s reaction when he was fine with her taking part in the match.
Obviously, he’s protective and would want revenge for her being hurt as his partner and the fact she’s his fiancé added another emotional layer to his feud with Rohit.
It’s a quandary that many understand, it’s just hard to accept.
As for being able to defeat someone, it’s a bridge Impact Wrestling crossed when Tessa Blanchard defeated Sami Callihan and then Brian Cage to win the world title.
It’s an understandable position to be stuck in as fans, but we also have to accept others are more than capable of stepping up when needed.
Sometimes, it’s just better to enjoy the show rather than pick it apart just to find something we may not like.
