In last night’s Smackdown, we saw Finn Bálor lose to Roman Reigns. This was very predictable as many of us didn’t see Finn Balor beating Roman. When there is already a story in place for Roman to go against Brock Lesnar, it feels like Bálor will be a filler story.
There is also Big E to think about, but we will get to that later. The big surprise after this was a tease of the return of the Demon. Where the Demon went still in the middle of the ring, and Roman walked away. The Demon theme played, therefore, teasing the return of the Demon Finn Balor. It is very surprising and some great storytelling for WWE. There is, however, always a but in WWE when something good happens. It feels like something bad is always around the corner.
The Demon Is the New Fiend
The Demon and the Fiend have a lot in common, making it feel a similar thing could happen with Demon Balor. It could be that Finn does have a bit more pull in the company. The fact that the Demon and the Fiend can be marketed the same. There is no doubt that they will be used in a similar way in the near future. Making it feel like the Demon will get a great push and story, but then there will be that moment where he gets buried. It does feel like it’s playing out in a similar way.
Will Roman Reigns Vs. Brock Lesnar be a non-title match?
It is rumoured that Roman will go up against the Demon Balor at Extreme Rules in the upcoming PPV. Making it likely that Roman will beat the Demon and making the Demon unbeaten strike ended and just using it to build up to the match between Roman and Brock.
It seems like the only way that the Demon will get a push is if Roman loses to him and Brock and Roman is a non-title match. Then Finn Balor breaks off to feud with Big E, and Roman moves to Raw to improve that show. That is a best-case scenario, but it’s likely we get another burial of something very original.
