LA Knight would have a stop before the NXT Championship match later tonight. He would take on the son of Rick Steiner, Bron Breakker as a warm-up. Taking on the son of a legend is better than stretching, but could cost him the match later. This is the debut of Brekker, who has been ready for a while now.
Bron Breakker Nails A Major Slam, Pins LA Knight
Knight would force Breakker into the corner before taking a heavy lariat. Breakker would channel his father with some big takedowns, before Knight would be able to get some offense in. Knight would hit some big knee strikes into the midsection, before throwing Brekker into the corner and hitting a neckbreaker.
He had finally hit his stride and was breaking down Breakker. Breakker would hit a series of flying shoulder tackles before a twisting belly to belly suplex. He’d signal for something big, before taking some quick punches. Knight would be fought off, before Brekker hit a Press Slam into a powerslam for the shock victory!
He’d be congratulated by the new faces of WWE NXT, perhaps a sign of things to come after the match. This win came out of nowhere, and this could be a changing factor in tonight’s main event. Breakker certainly looked impressive, and hit an old move from the Steiner playbook. It’s unclear why WWE isn’t flaunting the family legacy when Bronson Steiner was a perfect name. However, it’s talent that matters – not a name.
Speaking Of New Blood…
The new faces would keep coming with Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs – a new tag team. They were faced by the former NXT Tag Team Champions, Imperium. Jensen would go right after Fabian Aichner, and be able to take some control as Josh Briggs got into the match. Bartel would come in to try and out wrestle Briggs, but was overpowered.
Briggs would be cut down in due time, with Imperium hitting a combo kick in the corner. Aichner would get slammed, and Jensen was back into the ring and the twenty year old was running wild. Jensen got a two count off a roll up, before taking a super double underhook suplex from Aichner for the two count.
