After winning the NXT Breakout tournament, Carmelo Hayes has a title shot of his choice. However, while discussing his options, Santos Escobar would warn him to stay far away from the North American Championship… or else. Not one to take a threat like this lightly, Hayes would step up for himself – and tonight will take on the leader of Legado Del Fantasma.
Legado Del Fantasma Still Run The Bingo
When you face Escobar, Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza are never far away. Electra Lopez now joined the faction, and it’s basically four on one now. Hayes wouldn’t be phased by this, and would go right after the arm of Escobar. He’d manage to take him down to the mat, before sending him to the floor. Escobar would counter a flying headscissor takedown and send Hayes face first into the mat.
Hayes would be beaten down, and tried to flee the ring as the crowd just wanted to see Hit Row. In the corner, Hayes would go up and over Escobar, before being caught in the middle of the ring. Escobar would get a pump kick to the jaw, and went to the apron. Hayes tried to follow, missed and was sent flying into the announce table. We’d go to a commercial break, with Escobar standing tall.
Santos Escobar Steals The Win
Coming back, Escobar was stomping Hayes out in the middle of the ring and looking to apply a boston crab. Hayes would get free before being sent into the corner and nailed with a big lariat. Escobar would nail a big uppercut after catching Hayes on the top rope, nailing a huge hurricanrana for a two count.
Hayes would get taken to the outside, where Escobar applied the Boston Crab on the steel steps. Back in the ring, Escobar was getting cocky as he choked Hayes on the ropes. Hayes hit an enziguri and springboard leg drop, before a flying Clothesline. A big knee strike and the suplex cutter, but Escobar kicked out! Hayes nailed a codebreaker before a swinging facebuster, getting another two count.
Escobar went to the apron and took a DDT, before Lopez would scoop slam Hayes on the mat as Mendoza & Wilde ran a distraction. Back in the ring, Santos Escobar nails Phantom Driver for the win.
