Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
Looks like we’re going to have a fun show tonight, barring any last second changes, as Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Championship against Finn Balor, the Usos and Street Profits face off, and Cesaro will face Rollins to rekindle their feud.
With some great action expected, we’re going to grab some snacks but we’ll be back at the 8 p.m. EST start time to get WWE Smackdown Live Results rolling.
Segment 1
Smackdown Tag Team Contenders Match – The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) vs. The Street Profits (Montez Ford, Angelo Dawkins)
The Usos started off being more concerned with trash talking and the Street Profits took advantage early on, but the Usos caught Ford’s crossbody attempt off the apron and slammed him into the barricade as we headed to commercial.
Segment 2
This was a good match that ended in a disqualification when the Usos attacked the Street Profits and wouldn’t back off. Dawkins then dropped both of them with a crossbody over the top rope.
Backstage, Reigns sent Heyman to bring him his cousins, and once outside the dressing room Heyman’s phone rang with Brock Lesnar’s entrance theme and he told the caller he’ll deliver the message.
Segment 3
Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair exchanged dialogues in the ring, with Lynch the clear fan favorite and EST chants piped in since Belair’s supposed to be the face.
Lynch refused Belair’s challenge for a rematch for the second straight week.
Segment 4
Rick Boogs W/King Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler w/Robert Roode
This was a quick squash match as Boogs hit a pump handle slam for the win.
Segment 5
Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro
Cesaro controlled the match early on, but Rollins hit a front slam for a pin attempt as we headed to commercial.
Segment 6
Rollins hit Cesaro with a steel chair for a DQ loss, then used Edge’s tactics to draw Edge out. Edge ran out with a chair and chased Rollins from the ring.
Segment 7
The KP Show
Happy Corbin called out his special guest, Logan Paul, and Paul and Owens got into it.
Corbin dropped Owens with a right and a chokeslam before they left the ring.
Segment 8
Sami Zayn vs. Dominik Mysterio
Dominik looked good early on, but the was distracted by Rey when he stopped Zayn from leaving the ring. Dominik ate a Helluva Kick for another pin loss.
Segment 9
Universal Championship – Roman Reigns (c) w/Paul Heyman vs. Finn Balor
The Usos attacked Balor at ringside and nailed him with the ring steps a couple of times before the Street Profits chased them off.
A confidant Reigns then came out in his usual entrance.
Segment 10
Reigns started off targeting Balor’s injured ribs, but Balor fought back, focusing on Reigns’ left leg.
Reigns nailed him with a chokeslam as we headed to commercial.
Segment 11
This was the best match of the night as Reigns won with the Guillotine Choke after Balor hit a double stomp to nearly pull off the upset.
As Reigns headed up the ramp, the lights turned red for an instant, and we think it’s possible those in attendance will get to see Lesnar there a week earlier than we will.
Overall, the show wasn’t bad but multiple disqualifications really downgraded those matches. What did you think? Let us know in the comments below and thank you for joining WWE Smackdown Live Results.
We had a great time hanging out and can’t wait for next week.
See you all then!
