After a long time away, WWE is finally set to return to the UK for a major tour. The UK has always been a major market for professional wrestling, and though the indy boom there has been snuffed out by WWE with NXT UK & COVID-19 shutting everything down – fans still love when tours come their way. However, in the advertising for this upcoming tour, Roman Reigns is nowhere to be seen, and Becky Lynch seems to be the headline star.
Roman Reigns Not Going To The UK
Most of the match cards for this upcoming four night tour have been announced ahead of time, with Roman Reigns & The Usos nowhere to be found. They are set to be part of Monday Night RAW on September 20th as per advertising from The PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the show is set to take place. This is in the middle of the UK tour, which runs from September 19th to September 22nd.
Instead we have a trio of names who will be the big draws for this tour. Becky Lynch, Drew McIntyre, and Finn Balor are all put in prominent spots. McIntyre is currently on the RAW brand, but wasn’t going to be left out of a tour that involves returning home to Scotland. WWE likely feels these names are big enough to serve as the attractions on these events, and doesn’t need to fly Reigns overseas.
Becky Lynch Vs. Bianca Belair To Serve As Headline Match
As is tradition for tours like this, it has the same match card for each night, with only small changes made as the tour goes – and only as needed. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford meet Chad Gable and Otis in tag team action. Baron Corbin faces Kevin Owens. Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio clash with rivals Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.
Finn Balor will be taking on Seth Rollins, in what will likely steal each show. The Intercontinental Championship will be defended each night with King Nakamura taking on Apollo Crews. Drew McIntyre brought former 3MB ally turned rival Jinder Mahal along for some street fights. Finally, each show will be capped off with a freshly heel Becky Lynch entering her home turf to face Bianca Belair.
Will UK fans decide to cheer or boo Becky Lynch on this tour? Was leaving Roman Reigns off a mistake? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
