Normally, wrestlers do their best to perform their maneuvers smoothly—even more so in segments where they aren’t as fatigued.  Unfortunately, wrestling botches still occur and while the ones that happen often tend to just look hideous there are some that could’ve been worse.

We’re going to look at four wrestling botches that could’ve ended up much worse.

911 Almost Dumps Tammy Sytch into the Corner and Crushes Johnny Grunge and Pitbull #1

Yeah, that’s a long subheading but it happened during the first Hardcore Homecoming show in June 2005. After the Tribute to the Fallen Heroes of Hardcore, 911 came out to even the score for Tammy Sytch (Sunny), Johnny Grunge, and Pitbull #1.

Prior, Roadkill and Danny Doring came out and disrupted the proceedings calling themselves the best tag team in ECW history. 911 came out and chokeslammed the two.

The chokeslam on the 300+ pound Roadkill was iffy but a chokeslam was delivered. After that, he celebrated with the three who were there to honor Chris Candido, “Flyboy” Rocco Rock, and Pitbull #2.

911 went to hoist Tammy onto his shoulder—something that should’ve been easy for him—and went on to stagger back and almost dump the original diva into the corner or ropes.

You could say it was fortunate that she fell on Johnny Grunge who 911 bumped into but she was almost spiked. She was alright and even laughed about it while Joey Styles lost his sh** in laughter on commentary. Apparently, 911 had hurt his ankle sometime during the segment.

Ahmed Johnson and Wrestling’s Sloppiest Spinebuster

On a December 1995 episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, Ahmed Johnson had a squash match against jobber Rick Stockhauser.

It was your usually half-at-the-minimum sloppy Ahmed squash but a spinebuster attempt on Stockhauser sent the guy into almost head/neck first onto the ropes in the corner.

It looked like dictionary definition sh**. Fortunately, the Retro Oasis blog had a gif of the spinebuster for your viewing displeasure.

4 Wrestling Botches That Almost Ended Worse

    Randy Orton Yeets Samir Singh

We’re still at the mild end of things here, folks. During the 2017 Orton vs. Mahal feud, “The Viper” was busy spanking the Singh brothers regularly.

During Backlash, he attempted to suplex Samir Singh through an announce table when it turned into something entirely different, sending Singh into the air and crashing onto the table head-first. Samir had to be lighter than Orton expected on the lift because…dude flew.

He turned out alright for the most part and the internet ended up with a meme of Randy Orton’s expression after the suplex.

Booker T Folds Mortis on WCW Monday Nitro

This is a botch that gets around regularly on wrestling Twitter but it’s always cringe-worthy when it pops up.

During a competitive match between Booker T and Mortis, the two find themselves in the corner on the turnbuckles with Booker prone on the top turnbuckle.

Mortis climbs up and is set to do a Frankensteiner. Once he leans back to take Booker off the turnbuckles, the future World Champion and Hall of Famer holds on and was looking to counter with a powerbomb.

What happens is Mortis is folded like a cheat sheet in class. He did not land flat and it looks ugly as hell. It resembled the powerbombs in the Fire Pro Wrestling games that result in a “CRITCAL”, folks. What awesome botches that almost went super bad that you remember?
