The WWE knows how to put on a show, but unfortunately for them it appears the best storylines are backstage as Charlotte Flair allegedly alienated the WWE locker room after Smackdown.
This reportedly came about after Smackdown went off the air as Flair took issue with the championship exchange as it made her look weak.
The exchange itself was odd for a few reasons and felt uncomfortable, and the reported aftermath, if true, would explain a few things.
Backstage heat
Flair and Becky Lynch allegedly got into a verbal altercation after show over the exchange as Lynch felt Flair was trying to make her look bad.
This blow up ended with Flair allegedly being escorted out by security guards, and various online sites have reported that Lynch is now being viewed as a hero for standing up to Flair.
Some had claimed that Flair has changed and no one recognizes her anymore and they refuse to work with her.
This is pure speculation, but if true it could be chalked up to a number of things from a battle between two friends over a perceived leadership role, mutual feelings of each other trying to make them look bad, to nothing more than people trying to stir something up.
Flair being Flair
There are always fans that will go after Flair for being spoiled and wanting things her way, and some reports could back this perspective.
It’s been reported that Flair didn’t like the way the title exchange was set up, but things went ahead anyway because Vince McMahon didn’t agree with any potential changes.
She also wanted to drop the Raw Women’s Championship to Bianca Belair to put her over, but that was reportedly nixed as well.
Oddly enough, we wonder how much of the exchange was what was supposed to happen since the WWE reportedly edited out the title belt hitting the floor in replays of Smackdown.
We assume this would be when Lynch threw her belt at Flair, which may or may not have been the planned exchange, and Flair didn’t bother to catch it.
Of course, there’s always the possibility this was a show between Flair and Lynch for one reason or another.
At this point, anything is possible, but if these rumors are true then it’s going to be curious to see what happens going forward.
