Two of the biggest WWE releases are still free agents and have not signed with any big companies. Braun Strowman has recently appeared on EC3’s company, and Bray Wyatt is still under his non-compete contract.
There were a lot of rumours that Bray Wyatt was going to appear at Rochester, but we know that wasn’t the case. At the moment, it looks like the decision for Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt is whether to sign with AEW or Impact. It’s possible that if they go to AEW, they won’t be that well-liked due to how many fans don’t want him there, making it likely we may see a more heel-ish side of both wrestlers.
A very evil tag-team
Through the Fiend era and the train conductor era of both wrestlers’ characters. The point where both were over. It felt like a heel turn would have been the best for both characters, but it felt like he had a weird medium due to the Fiend getting over. It’s likely that if Bray comes to AEW, he won’t be well-liked at the beginning, and turning his new character into something more heelish could work out better.
Then there’s Braun Strowman, who could also be less liked due to people not wanting him in AEW, but his huge size could easily put him into that heel gimmick, taking away all the weird gimmick and just making him the true monster among men. Even making him the guardian of the Bray Wyatt type and forming a heel tag group.
Faction or Tag Team
The big question is will Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman come to AEW as a tag team or a faction. AEW has taken a backseat stance on factions compared to how they started, but both men have been part of one of the most iconic modern-day factions in the past with the Wyatt Family. It’s possible that a new heel faction that maybe even based on some horror character could be the new factions.
This could introduce Abadon to the faction and maybe even old faction member Eric Redbeard into the faction down the line. It’s possible at the start all members will be hated because there are many fans out there who just don’t want these wrestlers in AEW. Making them heel may be the best way to introduce them at the beginning.
